IOWA CITY, Iowa (WQAD 8) — Gender inclusive restrooms are grabbing headlines nationwide and now they're coming to one of Iowa's public universities. The University of Iowa announced it will make nearly 150 on-campus bathrooms gender-inclusive. More than 40 volunteers worked throughout the spring semester to review hundreds of bathrooms on campus, taking note of the number of stalls and signs outside. They found 147 existing restroom have just one stall inside.
